Reviews:
DoctorBase embraces and encourages reviews of healthcare professionals by patients, peers (fellow healthcare professionals) as well as ratings from 3rd party sources.
DoctorBase also believes that healthcare providers are in a different business than retail establishments in that negative reviews can unfairly taint or bias public opinion against their practices and reputations, despite excellent & extensive medical histories demonstrating a high level of care and competence.
DoctorBase therefore attempts to have a live human read every submitted review, and those that may be deemed by our editorial staff to be libelous, spammy, or inflammatory or lack correct email information may be denied publication onto our website. This review process may take up to 72 business hours.
In order to attempt to provide feedback and improve the level of healthcare patients receive, doctors may be alerted that a positive or negative review or feedback has been written about them.
Patients and peers that leave reviews of healthcare providers agree to provide an accurate email address, and that it is suggested that they NOT use their real names or identifiable pseudonyms as their Profile Name in DoctorBase should they desire to leave reviews Anonymously.
Patients and Peers may also leave reviews by verifying their identity via Facebook or Twitter, or their DoctorBase login ID. Such reviews are viewable by the public and may – at the reviewer’s discretion – also be posted to their Twitter “tweets” and/or Facebook Wall for those in their network to view.
DoctorBase website visitors who leave reviews agree that other users as well as other healthcare providers and professionals may contact them through the ability to send private messages through DoctorBase. This does NOT mean that DoctorBase releases the email address provided in the Review or Registration process to any 3rd parties. Such messages between website visitors is done through an anonymous messaging system on DoctorBase. HOWEVER, should any user choose to reply to another user via their own email application or email client once a DoctorBase message is received in their email inbox, their emails will be identifiable and trackable as any other email message sent from their computer. For anonymity DoctorBase recommends sending all correspondence through its own private messaging system - DoctorBase requires that website visitors register to be able to use this private message system. Participating medical practices in our sponsored network, visitors, registered users and registered visitors AGREE that all submitted content, forum postings, Ask Expert questions, links and submitted content (including image assets such as videos and pictures) become the property of LeadMarket, Inc. Negative Reviews:
DoctorBase believes that the Internet brings unprecedented transparency and options for access to information for both patients and medical practices. DoctorBase reserves the right to add other elements to considering and calculating a Medical Practice Rating or Facilities Rating or Reviews Score – without publication, warning, or notice.
Binding Arbitration, Jurisdiction and Governing Law
All users AGREE that the arbitration shall be conducted under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") before a panel of three arbitrators and conducted in San Francisco, California. You and LeadMarket, Inc. DBA DoctorBase.com also AGREE that the AAA Optional Rules for Emergency Measures of Protection shall apply to the proceedings.
